The Village of Sheldon is a quiet and idyllic village in the heart of the Peak District National Park.
Sheldon is recorded in Domesday as “Scheldhaun”.
The village is made up of stone built cottages and farms built in the 17-18th century.
It is the home of the lovely small church of St Michael and All Angels, the beautifully proportioned Hartington Hall and a locally renowned pub called the Cock & Pullet which serves great food and Ales.
The village has its very own Garage, as well as being home to the historic Magpie Lead Mine.
The village is 3 miles west of the town of Bakewell off the A6 and is about 12 miles East of Buxton.
